About Us

We bread Red Wiggler worms, scientifical name Eisenia fetida.  These worms are shades of red to brown and grow to be up to 3-4 inches in length.  Red wigglers are epigean which means they live in the top layers of soil.  They thrive in compost environments rich in decaying vegetation, leaves, some manure or the combination.

Red Wigglers have a huge appetite eating up to half their body weight daily.  They eat a wide variety of organic materials including fruits, vegetables, coffee grounds, shredded paper and decaying leaves.  What they should not be fed is anything spicy, highly acidic, cooked foods, meats or greasy oily foods.  These can be harmful to worms.

Composting is the most common use for Red Wiggler worms due to their rapid reproduction and efficient waste processing ability.  The casting produced by the red wiggler worm is very nutrient rich including beneficial microorganisms which is excellent for gardens and plants.
